Vacation Time

It's the greatest time of the year. No, it has nothing to do with church events; nothing to do with school; and nothing to do with work of any kind. It's not that I dislike any of those things, but in comparison to this week, they pale in comparison. This week, actually the next 12 days, it's just me and the family. It is hard to chisel out time for the family during the normal routine of life. Oh, you get the meals together, family devotions, Monday's off, etc. But it's not like 12 days with nothing but family.

This year our family is vacationing on the beaches in Florida. We have 7 days in Palm Beach and 2 days in the Florida Keys. We have plans for snorkeling, glass bottom boats, swimming, science museums, Safari, a butterfly museum and a Japanese Garden. And still we have lots of time to relax. We are so looking forward to vacations. Only one problem...We have to catch the flight out.

We leave for Florida at 3:00 AM on Friday Morning. Have you ever tried to get a family of five with three kids, and a grumpy morning Father (not you papa Rush) out of bed at 3:00 AM. It is a major miracle. We were late on leaving, but it's okay, because the plane was over a hour late leaving NY. We arrived safely at our first hotel a little after 1:00 PM. So far it was a good start to our family vacation. Check int tomorrow as I give more updates and picture of our vacation.
